Staff Engineer - Electronic Design (HiRel)

Description:

This position is a key member of our HiRel team and will be working in the Space and Medical Technology Development Department. The team is chartered with the mission to roll out new platforms in a timely manner and to assist in yield improvement deliverables. This position requires access to certain technology that is controlled by the export laws of the U.S. You will be required to provide proof of US citizenship, Permanent US residency or classification as a protected individual as defined by 8 USC 13244b(a)(3).

What you will be doing.

  • You will be responsible for:
  • • Coordinating requests with assembly, fab and evaluation for technology/product development related activities.
  • • Performing photo mask design, device and process simulations, testing and evaluations.
  • • Supporting platform/product development review processes.
  • • The executions of DOE for the platform/product development.
  • • Coordinating engineering reliability activities.
  • • Knowledge of prior art/science, writing up description of the new invention and working with the IP team to file a disclosure.

What you need to work here.

  • • MS or Ph.D in Electrical Engineering - you should have a focus on power semiconductor devices or other device physics-related fields
  • • 3 or more years of experience in the HiRel industry and with power semiconductor characterization, device design and processing.
  • • Good understanding of device physics of power devices - power MOSFETs and IGBT experience a MUST!
  • • Good understanding of fabrication processes and device structures of MOSFETs and IGBT’s and interactions between fabrication processing and device behavior.
  • • Good understanding of MOSFET/IGBT device characterization.
  • • Experience with HiRel and space device design is HIGHLY DESIRABLE!
  • • Experienced in using statistical analysis tools such as IDS, JMP etc.
  • • Familiar with Statistical-Process-Control (SPC), Cp and Cpk.
  • • Working knowledge of packaging process and assembly.
  • • TCAD skills with SILVACO or Synopsys software.
  • • Familiar with Design-Of-Experiments (DOE) methods.
  • • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • • Experienced using Cadence layout tools.
  • • Good root cause analysis problem solving abilities.
  • • Familiar with different device characterization test equipment.
  • • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills are a MUST!
